Matt Braden

President

I grew up in Anderson County, Tennessee, and earned my degree in Accounting from Tennessee Tech University. For over 20 years, I’ve built a career in the construction industry, gaining hands-on experience in new construction, residential and commercial remodeling, and historic preservation. I joined Buckhead Construction in February 2017 and took ownership of the company in January 2024. Outside of work, I’m a proud spouse and parent to three wonderful kids. I stay active in the community by volunteering in youth sports programs and supporting various nonprofit organizations.

Lisette Vergara

Director of Operations

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, I moved to Knoxville in 2019 and quickly found a deep connection to the community. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from North Park University, along with a Certification as a Nonprofit Professional. After spending over a decade in the financial industry, I transitioned into construction and have been part of the field for the past two years. I joined Buckhead Construction in February 2023.

I’ve been married for 10 years and have two children who keep life fun and full. Giving back has always been important to me, and I’m proud to serve as the Board Chair for Centro Hispano of East Tennessee. Volunteering with local nonprofits has helped turn Knoxville into home. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking with my family, road trips, community service, and staying active through sports.

Steven Maxwell

Project Manager

I grew up in Clarksville, Tennessee, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the University of Tennessee. Over the past 13 years, I’ve built a career in the construction industry, bringing both technical knowledge and hands-on experience to every project. I’ve been a part of the Buckhead Construction team since September 2017.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors—whether it’s fishing, gardening, or catching live music whenever I can.

Mike Henderlight

Superintendent

I grew up in the Powell and Claxton area and graduated from Clinton High School. With over 40 years of experience in the construction industry, I’ve spent my entire career building and refining my craft. I joined Buckhead Construction in October 2022, bringing decades of hands-on knowledge to the team.

I’m a proud father of two and enjoy spending my free time on the lake or working on cars—two passions that keep me grounded and energized.

Brandon Williams

Superintendent

I grew up in Harrogate, Tennessee, and graduated from Fort Ridge High School. With 33 years of experience in the construction industry, I’ve built a long-standing career grounded in hard work and practical know-how. I joined Buckhead Construction in February 2025, bringing decades of field experience to the team.

I’m a father of three and enjoy spending my free time riding motorcycles and fishing—two things that help me unwind and recharge.

Jeff Duncan

Materials Specialist

I grew up right here in Knoxville, Tennessee, and graduated from Farragut High School before continuing my education at State Tech. After a 32-year career in the trucking industry, I transitioned into construction and have now spent the past 10 years working in the field. I joined Buckhead Construction in January 2017 and have been proud to be part of the team ever since.

I’m a father of one and a big fan of all things UT. In my spare time, I enjoy boating, traveling, watching NASCAR races, and cheering on the Vols.

Jason Basler

Carpenter

I grew up in Maryville, Tennessee, and graduated from William Blount High School. Before entering the construction industry, I spent 15 years working as a chef, which taught me the value of precision, creativity, and hard work. I’ve been in construction for the past six years and joined Buckhead Construction in August 2020.

I’m a proud father of three and spend my free time outdoors whenever I can—whether it’s hunting, golfing, fishing, or working in the garden.

Billy Lingle

Carpenter

I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, and graduated from Gibbs High School. I proudly served in the U.S. Army for three and a half years before transitioning into the construction industry, where I’ve been working for the past four years. I joined Buckhead Construction in October 2024 and bring a strong work ethic and team-first mindset to every project.

I’m a father of five and enjoy spending my free time biking and being outdoors—anything that keeps me active and connected to nature.

Edward Nicholson

Founder

I grew up in Knoxville, Tennessee, and graduated from West High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of Tennessee. I’ve worked in construction since 1971 and purchased Buckhead Construction in 1989, building the company on a foundation of quality, integrity, and hands-on leadership.

I’m married, a proud father of three, and a grandfather to eight. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, taking road trips, and spending time with my family—things that keep me grounded and inspired both personally and professionally.
